Further development from my previous post. This kaleidoscopic image was mirrored, now I have distorted it further, and have twisted it symmetrically. The smooth geometry seems further removed from nature, but is still recognisable as such.
Starting with a new image I took on a calm sunny day from a hilltop. I have distorted the sky to appear more ominous and stormy, using a lens effect and colour alterations. This creates a much more menacng sky.
While twisting these images I have learnt to pixelate them. The aesthetic of pixelating is something I have always wanted to explore. I have imposed pixels onto the landscape to abstract the view, before using multiple ‘twirls’ in Affinity Photo to twist the landscape similar to my last image. Watch this space for the next instalment.
