I decided that I needed to get a high quality mirror for this piece. I wanted the exact size of mirror cut for the plinth so phone around to get them custom made. When they arrived with the help from the technicians I attached them with mirror adhesive and protected the surface and edges with lots of bubble wrap and tape.

Next time I order mirrors I need to remember to allow an extra couple of mm to ensure there is no wooden plinth visible at the edges. Overall I am ecstatic as to how it has turned out. All I need to do is decide what if anything should be placed on it. I hope it survives the journey!
