Gavin Turk Who What When Where How and Why at Newport street gallery (visit)

Visited Gavin Turk’s exhibition at  Newport Street gallery in particular to see his bronze works which I had been introduced too by Gavin when I attended his talk at UCA.

These seemingly life-like every day rubbish objects are illusions as they are actually cased in bronze potentially raising their value into an art object. All the bronzes’ have been painted in order to achieve this life-like illusion. However in one particular bin bag piece I feel he has failed to achieve this illusion as the bin bag featuring yellow tie handles doesn’t achieve the same visual quality as the real thing.
