London visit 10th june

As well as going to the Royal Academy I visited 2 other exhibitions on 10th June. ‘Gego: Autobiography of a Line’ at the Dominique Levy gallery and ‘Mechanical Abstract’ at Turps Banana gallery.

I see these works as drawings on the wall when in fact they are three dimensional sculptures hanging from both the ceiling and the walls and mentioned this before I read that the artist also considered them drawings.

This gallery is not in a touristy area of London and took a while to find as it was far away from the other galleries I visited today. It is a small gallery but the work made up for it; the work was brilliant. The colours were bright and vibrant. I kept on focusing on the colour combinations and the brush strokes of Jonathan Parson’s paintings.
