‘I Think anyone can come to my work from the general culture: I don’t set up any kind of requirement’ – Jeff Koons (1986)

Jeff Koon believes that his art is open to everyones interpretations on any level, bringing each individuals own experience and context to the work. Koons uses his  Equilibrium Tanks to explain this. how a person can enjoy seeing a basketball floating in an unnatural way inside a tank, which may differ from another viewers perspective depending on their understanding. Koons ideas are supported by Haim Steinbach when he states in this discussion that ‘I am conscious that in many ways today the disctioin between an elite as opposed to a more general audience are becoming blurred’
